Not everything I come up with will appeal to all peoples. Somehow, I’ve come to terms with that. During games, I’ll try to have two plots running at any time. One that has to do with the ship and it’s crew and another that is based on whatever is outside the ship. Your basic A-plot, B-plot structure. So, if one isn’t to your liking, ideally you’ll be able to jump into the other.
Maybe you don’t want to get dragged into either of this weeks plots, for whatever reason. That’s cool, too. But, at that point, I’ll be looking to you for ideas on what your character gets up to. Throw something out there and I’ll do my best to roll with it. But you gotta meet me half way. I’m not going to be offended if you don’t like my ideas, but at that point you really ought to have an idea you DO want to bring to the metaphorical table.
